Apasen’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and celebrating diverse abilities shines brightly each year. Aligning with the United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December the 3rd, Apasen orchestrated yet another impactful event on Thursday to mark the occasion. The vibrant gathering unfolded at the Atrium Events Venue in East London, generously supported by the Tower Hamlets Council and operating under the overarching governance of Apasen.
Collaborating with Apasen Day Centres across greater London were 16 organisations from the Disability Network, in addition to several government institutions. Notably, the event served as a platform to honour 25 individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions in education, culture, and personal achievements. Distinguished guests, including Apasen’s Chief Executive Mahmud Hasan MBE, Suminthra Naidu (Director of Nursing and Governance for Royal London and Mile End Hospitals), Apasen’s Chief Operating Officer Mark Foulds, Kevin Siaw from Tower Hamlets Council, Apasen Chairman Amir Hossain, and the organisation’s Day Care Service Head Habibur Rahman Kabir, joined the occasion.
The culmination of the event showcased a spectacular array of activities, including a captivating learners’ performance, magic show, para-carnival, raffle draw, and culturally enriching presentations. What set this celebration apart was the enthusiastic and active participation of Apasen learners, making it a true testament to the spirit of inclusivity and empowerment that Apasen strives to foster each year.
