Apasen is going to observe this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on 5 December Monday at 11am. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. As the lead partner of the Disabled People’s Network, we have included our partner organisations in Tower Hamlets to celebrate the special day together with the council, residents and voluntary organisations in order to reduce inequalities faced by disabled people and to improve everyday experiences for individuals and the community. The theme this year is ‘Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world’.
