Helping you stay
independent
at home

“It’s great when life goes according to plan. But that’s not always the case – and when challenges arise, at any age, a helping hand can make all the difference.”

A disability, an accident or injury that affects mobility, developing a long-term illness or simply growing older could make you and your family think you will have to give up the independence of living in your own home. “But it doesn’t have to be that way.”

Deciding that home care is the way forward for yourself or for your loved one can be a difficult decision, but the right home care can help you to stay independent and enjoy real quality of life.

If you decide to use home care, choosing the right provider is vital. At Apasen Home & Community Services, we have more than 20 years’ experience in helping people to carry on living an independent life, with flexible, person-centred support tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

If you or a loved one needs extra support – from help with household chores or getting out and about to 24-hour, live-in care – our team can provide the solutions you are looking for.

With our support, you’ll enjoy the freedom to lead the life you choose, in the way you choose, without having to leave a much-loved home or community.

The support you need, when you need it

Our flexible approach means we can provide as much or as little support as you need, for as long as you need it,
including:

Respite care when your regular carers are away

Short daily “pop-in” visits

Day and night sitting services

Sleep over services

24-hour, live-in care.

You can be sure that you’ll be in control of your care, regardless of the service we provide to you. You can choose the type, amount and duration of the service you need and if you no longer need a certain service, or want to change your services, all you have to do is tell us. We will respect your wishes and beliefs and support you with dignity and sensitivity at all times.

At Apasen, we are committed to giving you the best quality care possible. This commitment starts with our first contact with you and is built into everything we do, including:

The speed and efficiency with which we handle the process of you becoming a client

The attention we pay to creating your bespoke care plan

The recruitment and training of carers to match your needs

The way we deliver, monitor and strive to continually improve our services to you.

If you or a loved one has more complex needs, we can arrange for full-time, live-in carers, so that support and assistance are always on hand. We can also provide sleep-in services, so that if you need help at night, there is someone close at hand.

Rehabilitation: If you have been in hospital, or are recovering from an accident or illness, we’ll provide support to help you regain confidence and independence.

Holiday care

If you need help when you go on holiday, our team can support you to get the most out of your break..

Our promise of Quality

Our team of fully trained care professionals includes the carers who will provide your day-to-day home care and other services, such as live-in care. Our carers are managed and supervised by experienced field supervisors, care co-ordinators and branch managers, who are supported by our administration, finance and HR colleagues.

Before joining our home care team, our new recruits must:

Successfully complete rigorous interviews

Undergo thorough reference checks

Successfully complete vetting checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service,

The new members of staff must also go through a mandatory induction programme which includes health and safety, moving and handling, infection control, medication and safeguarding. Induction is followed by a number of shadowing shifts, during which new recruits work with more experienced colleagues, before they start making home visits independently.

We encourage and support staff to gain professional qualifications. All our carers have either achieved a care certificate or working towards it. The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It’s made up of the 15 minimum standards that is our robust induction programme. Most of our staff completed Health and Social Care (QCF level 2 diploma) and some working towards the level 3.

Our multi-cultural workforce reflects the community of people we support, and we can recruit carers specifically to meet your needs, including language and religious preferences.
